Re: Remote to control soundbar, Samsung TV and CMC

I might go for the Inteset. EDIT The way its programmed is you download a Windows program that has their database of remotes and you choose your make/model and it imports that device's settings. The only part is just that you retrieve the 5 digit codes for your device from a database they have onlin...

Re: Remote to control soundbar, Samsung TV and CMC

Thanks for all the detail. After I posted I researched further and decided on the used Harmony 650 so it helps that you also recommend it. The Inteset looked interesting as new inexpensive option also. Just watched this video on the Pepper Jobs W10 Air Mouse: https://d2y5sgsy8bbmb8.cloudfront.net/v2...

Remote to control soundbar, Samsung TV and CMC

I've got the MCE remote working for windows volume, launching CMC, skipping back and ahead in MPC-BE, closing MPC-BE and CMC and doing everything else an MCE remote always did but I still need the remote for the Samsung TV to turn it on and off and the Vizio soundbar remote to adjust its volume We a...

Re: Whew! - Wasn't expecting HDR to be as complicated

Hi Paul,

Should I have posted this in the hardware or media players forum?

EDIT - please move to the Media Player sub forum. I just now found your post on LAV, madVR and MPC-BE. I had already found the video you posted to configure my setup.

Re: Whew! - Wasn't expecting HDR to be as complicated

Hi Paul, I hear you about not having HDR monitors in the house. This Samsung TU8500 is my first and kicked off this whole flurry of upgrades. The video card is an $80 Nvidia GT 1030. It has a fan but I have yet to hear it, maybe it runs at low RPM. I supposed if we installed a game we would start he...

Whew! - Wasn't expecting HDR to be as complicated

After upgrading to Windows 10 from 7, getting CMC installed and configured I moved on to HDR. I was motivated because when viewing for instance, a patch of sky, in a scene there were artifacts I think are referred to as banding. When I first connected the new Samsung TU850D panel I first tried using...

Re: Intro (on CMC forum) - closer to ditching WMC

I'm surprised Win10 is faster, that's awesome. I wonder how much of that is simply the "new install speed boost" as opposed to Win10 being faster than Win7. I've always assumed that individual Win10 features were faster, like DirectX12, but figured as a whole the OS's were about the same ...

Re: Intro (on CMC forum) - closer to ditching WMC

We just 21 TV Series and some only have 1 or 2 seasons. I noticed they take longer to process than movie titles. I changed it to Changes Only so I think I'm all set. I was thinking of jumping over to the mymovies forum to report on my upgrade as my situation is fairly typical of MM users on the forum.

Re: Looking Back on the First 3 Years of CMC

It's a strange coincidence that I finally decided to put WMC to rest on the three year anniversary of my first MMB (CMC) license. I was able to successfully upgrade our MyMovies folder set to CMC in half an hour and get our MCE remote working. I showed it to the family and they all agreed it's a bet...

Re: Intro (on CMC forum) - closer to ditching WMC

The upgraded Win7 machine is running faster in Windows 10 and the screen rendering is much nicer. This is good timing as we just replaced the graphics card and the panel (nVidia GeForce GT 1030 and Samsung 4K panel). Running Windows 7 on a 4K screen is painful, with Windows 10 everything looks great.
