Re: CMC fails to load bitmap during screensaver error

I took look inside folder 174 and fanart.jpg does exist. I logged into my server and re-exported Fearless (yeah I'm a Jet Li fan. Also a Donnie Yen Fan) and had CMC do a smart sync. I was able to open the jpg and view it with windows photos before exporting, but that doesn't mean that it's not corru...

[Resolved] CMC fails to load bitmap during screensaver error

Welp! It happened again. After the error occurred, I did a full sync to see if it might pop up again after a full sync. Take a look and see what you think it might be.

Re: Htpc upgrade

I have 39 4k movies in my collection. After Akira, I watched Coppola’s Dracula. It definitely ran hotter, but I just wanted to watch the movie, so I didn’t have task manager open to see if gpu usage increased nor did I check temps. I watched the entire movie which is a just over two hours. My pc nev...

Re: Htpc upgrade

I just finished watching Akira 4k version scaled down to 1080p. No overheating to the point that the htpc shuts down, and no more stuttering. Using Throttle stop, I undervolted the CPU, CPU Cache, and the Intel GPU to -80mv. That appears to be stable for me because I get not bluescreens or sudden fr...

Re: Htpc upgrade

Geez intel! I spent a lot of time banging my head against the wall on this! I just read the article, and it makes a lot of sense now. It doesn't matter what it's set at in the bios, so I went back in the bios and set it to it's default which is Auto. The setting in the bios is probably just a legacy...

Re: Htpc upgrade

Well two steps forward one step back. I haven't tried to use throttle stop just yet (thanks for the link and info!). I tried to increase my video memory, but no matter what size I try to increase it to it always remains at 128M. Initially I was looking for something in the driver itself that would i...

Re: Htpc upgrade

Thanks Paul. I’ll look in the bios to see if any over locking is occurring, and if it is turn it off. I found this while googling undevolting my i3: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/gaming/resources/overclocking-xtu-guide.html Not sure if it supports my specific cpu (i3-10100 lga1200) it’s no...

Re: Htpc upgrade

Yep! It finally appears to be coming together. I did play a 4k movie with jriver last night. Picture looks great even thought it’s being downscaled to 1080p. It does the conversion to SDR really well, but it gets really hot to the point that it’s uncomfortable to touch the case. It gets so hot the b...

Re: Htpc upgrade

Well I'm happy to report that the new hardware is up and running as of today. It hasn't been without issues, but nothing that wasn't impossible to overcome. First issue was there are two m.2 connectors on the motherboard. One supports 11th gen cpu's and the other 10th gen. I have a 10th gen cpu. Whe...

Re: Htpc upgrade

Welp! I spent part of the evening putting it together. Thermal grease just get all over the place! First snag: I made a assumption that the power supply came with the adapter plate. It actually comes with the case. So I went into my storage unit and found it. My storage it very well organized, so it...
