[RESOLVED] Plays in MPC-BE standalone but not when launched my CMC

Post by dsteinschneider » Sat Jun 25, 2022 2:50 pm

Hi,

I already watched the content (survival guide series) and don't really need it in the CMC library but I'm curious why an mkv file would launch from MPC-BE 64's own app but not when it's called from inside CMC.

Any ideas on troubleshooting this appreciated :)

Hey Doug,

Most likely the file path is not configured correctly in My Movies, so when you pay it in CMC it can't actually find the file.

A quick way to check it to enable Debug Logging, then try to play it again, after which you can turn Debug Logging back off.

Then look in your logs folder for the Play Click debug log files. They will probably reveal no file path or file name. Feel free to share the log files with me for confirmation.

For TV series that point to mkv or other encoded media files, you have to set the file path on each individual episode in My Movies. Note that this can be done automatically if your filenames follow Binnerup's guidelines, and then you import that media, it will create the series for you and link each episode to the file. Otherwise, it can be more work to configure each episode individually.

Hi Paul,

I haven't looked yet but you've answered my question because I forgot to follow the folder protocol for these files. I remember somewhere along the line reading a very good explanation of how to make sure TV series always work by

Show (Parent Folder)
- Season_01 (Season Folder)
- - Show_Episode_Name_S01E01.mkv
- - Show_Episode_Name_S01E02.mkv

I corrected the folder structure issue - I should just delete the series in MyMovies and re-add it now that the folder structure is correct.

That worked - fixed the folder structure and re-added the show
