So I'm doing some cleanup of my movie collection metadata.
I'm using MyMovies Collection Management's option to Export to XML to analyze the data I'm editing, filtering to find fields that are blank or need to updated, etc. That's all going well.
My physical (on hard drive) movie folder count matches perfectly with what I see in Collection Management in terms of my Collection Number count.
However, My Disc Title total is one higher than my folder count. The Disc Title total also is consistent with what I'm seeing in CMC (movies + documentaries + other).
So I'm trying to figure out how I have one additional Disc Title beyond the number of actual movies I have on my hard drive and in my collection. I'm continuing to search for the answer but if you have any ideas how this might happen or where I should be looking I'd be happy for the suggestion.

Re: Movie Count Mismatch
My continued efforts found the answer...
This is a new one for me.
Collection Management had the same movie listed twice with the same Collection Number. The second entry had two offline discs listed. The extra entry was producing the additional number count in CMC, one higher than my actual number of Movie/disc folders on my server.
I believe this was caused by a database restore.

Good find, those can be hard to track down.
I have a similar issue caused by folder monitoring. If I import an ISO, as a disc title, then later on My Movies may decide it wants to import the folder again but this time as an online folder. So I end up with two copies of the same film. It's bad enough that this happens, but it's really frustrating because it happens randomly, once in a blue moon.

Re: [Resolved] Movie Count Mismatch
Thanks. Yeah, it took some time and I was scratching my head for a bit trying to find where the discrepancy was. I'm going to keep a closer eye on the "Disc Titles" total on the bottom row of Collection Management now. I do try to compare all the numbers (Collection Number, folder count on server, reported numbers in CMC) from time to time to make sure I haven't had a mistake or a duplicate slip into my dataset.
The frustrating part of the scenario you described having is definitely that monitored folders occasionally show up at some later time for some reason. I try to wait for Collection Management to find a new folder after I've added a new one, but they definitely have not always showed up right away.
