All Trailers - Cannot Render The File (MPC-BE)

Post by michae1a1ee » Sat Nov 30, 2024 11:11 pm

Hi!
This is sort of a revisit of a previous Trailer issue. Something has gone wrong with MPC-BE again, it would seem.
None of my CMC Trailer links are launching in MPC-BE correctly any longer on two different PCs, no it's not PC specific, or at least multiple PCs of mine have the issue. MPC-BE launches and briefly puts up the message "Cannot Render the file" and then leaves me with just a blank MPC-BE screen that needs to be manually closed.
The Trailer example I'm using plays fine from YouTube in a web browser:
I can't get MPC-BE to load the URL even if I open MPC-BE and choose Open File/URL, but no problem from a web browser.

I updated one PC to MPC-BE 1.8.1 and it didn't make a difference. My "Online Media Services" page looks as was suggested previously:

Any idea what to change or check to correct this loading/rendering issue?

UPDATE:
Apparently all my PCs were suddenly missing the required yt-dlp.exe file from the MPC-BE installation folders.
I've manually downloaded that file and added it and it's fixed this issue. Clearly I had it before; not sure what happened to lose it off all my PCs. Windows 10 Virus checking? Who knows.
