Paul,
Just noticed part of the documentation for the PCS-2. Kind of interesting. Pete
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Forced Shutdown Option

When the forced shutdown option is enabled, the PCS-2 will force the PC to shutdown if it has not
already shut itself down within 1 minute of the user requesting that the system shut down. This is
especially useful if your system has a background application that tends to prevent the system from
automatically shutting down.

By default forced shutdown is disabled.

To enable forced shutdown, hold down on the PCS-2 button until the LED flashes several times.
Note that forced shutdown will only work if the 4 second power-down option is enable in the PC BIOS.
(This is enabled by default on virtually all PCs.)

Very cool, though I've never seen a 4-second power down option in any BIOS. My experience has always been that this is a 10-second duration for the forced power down. Maybe that's referring to the same thing.

Thanks for sharing! I might just get me one of these.

I support the idea to have a shutdown option in the exit menu.
As discussed in this thread there are several ways to shutdown the system, but it depends on settings and devices. On my HTPC I autostart into CMC, and I would love to shut down from CMC. thanks :D

I have added a write-up on the PCS-1/2 as a tip in the new CMC Tips & Tricks forum.

Just wanted to let you know that v2.2 now has Sleep and Shutdown options in addition to Close and Reboot.

I hope to have v2.2 in beta next week.
