Hello Paul,
There is no need to apologize for the delay :) You are one of the most helpful developers I have dealt with >)

I will try the command and let you know.

One suggestion. Why do not you use the way JRiver handles external players ? With Jriver you just indicate in the configuration that you want to use the external default player for blu ray or whichever file you want and in that way it uses the default windows player for the relevant file.

With Jriver DVDFAB and all other players work fine.

I can send you a screenshot of how the configuration is done if you wish.

Thanks a lot.

Andreas

Paul I have tested it

I run the command C:\Program Files (x86)\DVDFab Player 5\DVDFab Player 5.exe I:\ /fullscreen /close and the player starts up fine and starts playing the pre-mounted iso file....

If you do not wish to use Virtual Clone drive you can disable it in settings.

Hmph! That was unexpected. That's the exact same command that CMC is issuing, and somehow CMC is failing.

Any chance you are running CMC under a different/restricted account that doesn't have permissions to run programs?

Does it affect playback if you right-click on CMC.exe and 'Run as Administrator'?

What version of Windows are you running?

Hello Paul,
I am running Windows 10 Pro version 1809.
Have you checked the way Jriver handles external players ? :)

No, I haven't bothered to look at JRiver. Calling just the default player for all media isn't as powerful as the solution I have implemented, and I have no intention of going in that direction.

I have made a minor tweak to the next beta (CMC v2.2 Beta 12) that hopefully will fix this issue. It should be out this week.

Hi Andreas, have you had a chance to test and see if this is fixed?

CMC v2.2 Release Candidate 14 is now out, and is going final very soon. If this is still and issue, I would like to know asap.

Thanks,
Paul

Hello Paul,
Sorry for not replying sooner, but I had a lot of things at home and at work....

Unfortunately even with version 2.2 I still get the same error with DVD Fab Player 5.

Cyberlink Power DVD and Jriver through CMC work fine...

Thanks.

Andreas

Can you post a screenshot of the current error message? It should have changed ever so slightly, and I want to verify the change.

Also, you never answered these two questions from above:

Any chance you are running CMC under a different/restricted account that doesn't have permissions to run programs?

Does it affect playback if you right-click on CMC.exe and 'Run as Administrator'?

Hello Paul,

Problem solved :)

I have placed a shortcut of CMC on the desktop. I went to Properties > Compatibility and ticked the "Run this program as Administrator".

Then I went to Windows 10 settings and set the DVDFab Media Player as the default player.

Now everything works great and I can finally fully test CMC !!!!!!!!!

Thanks for everything and by the way excellent job in the latest version :)

Thanks again.

Andreas
