Recently I read that now all Marvel Studios films are available in 4K, and it had me thinking about upgrading. But most Marvel movies are really popular and command a price premium over 'regular' films, especially in 4K. I normally buy Blu-ray below $15, and 4K below $20, unless it is a film I really love. So I just priced up all 23 Marvel films on 4K, and it came to a staggering $601. That's $26 per movie, ouch.
But the news out today is that Marvel's The Infinity Saga Collector's Edition, with all 23 films in 4K, is due out this November 15: https://www.slashfilm.com/marvel-infinity-saga-box-set/
The price is a still scary $550, but that brings the cost per movie down to $24 while at the same time bundling everything up in a nice box set with some exclusive bonus content. The box set is a numbered, limited edition - but there's no word yet on just how limited that will be. The previous limited editions have held their value well, so there's a chance this could even go up in value (no promises). Too bad it doesn't come in a super awesome collector's box like Phase 1 did:
