Norton Antivirus blocking CMC and CCC

HI,

After installing CCC and CMC on my machine, Norton Antivirus started to block these two programs when I did a import, or sync. I had the CMC folder excluded from my Norton scans so I was baffled that Norton ignored this directive.

In order to stop Norton from blocking these two programs I did the following.

Start Norton.

In the Norton main window, click Settings.

In the Settings window, click Firewall.

On the Program Control tab, select the program that you want to allow access.

In the Access drop-down list for the program entry, click Allow.

Click Apply.

Thanks for the excellent tip Jamie.

This is probably related to new code modules added to both programs to permit network communications. These capabilities are obvious to AV programs, and for relatively unknown apps they err on the side of caution and block communications.

CCC must have firewall access to communicate on a home network. I chose port# 1031 to celebrate CMC being launched on Halloween, 10/31.

Actually, both CMC and CCC will need firewall permissions so they can communicate with each other. CMC doesn't use a static port #, it's dynamic and changes with every network request.

Such is the price of progress.
