Setting focus mode to Alarm only on CMC launch
Setting focus mode to Alarm only on CMC launch
I used to have a dedicated HTPC so I didn't really need this but now that I use a workstation for HTPC and other duties, I think it would be great if we could have an option to set the focus mode in Windows 10 to "Alarms Only" automatically" on CMC launch (or on title playback if some would prefer to have the choice) and then revert to whatever setting was active before, once we exit CMC (or movie playback stops, depending on the option chosen by the user).
The idea being of course to minimise the risk of interruptions during a film.
Thoughts?

You're talking about this, right?
I think that's a great idea. Any clues on how I control this?

While researching, I came across info that suggested using the Automatic Rules to set it to Alarms Only when in Full Screen Mode, have you tried this?

Re: Setting focus mode to Alarm only on CMC launch
Yes, I'm aware of this option but I use most of my apps full screen, so that means I would be set to "Alarms only" nearly all the time if I was using it.
I enable the option for games, but not for fullscreen anymore.
I used to do so with the dedicated HTPC, which is why it's a "new" problem to me.
I'm not sure how you can change this with code, but I would assume there is a registry setting somewhere...

To be clear, maximizing an app to full screen size is not the same as full screen mode (no taskbar).

Re: Setting focus mode to Alarm only on CMC launch
Cool. Let me know either way. I found some reg keys related to configuring some options, but not toggling the mode, so I don't have a programmatical solution handy.
