Movies Not Opening - Full screen not available VLC

Post by colspeed » Fri Jan 30, 2026 12:11 pm

Hi, I'm a newby on here so apologies if I've missed something.
First of all let me say how delighted I am with CMC. Well done. Having recently upgraded to My movies 5 I lost access to WMC, so Chameleon is a blessing.
It's all loaded and my movies (about 400) are there and it all looks great. I'm still running Windows 7 and using VLC as the player.
The issue I have is that when I press 'Play' I get an error message saying that full screen playback is not available. I guess there's a setting I've not found yet, but if anyone can give me a steer to help I'd be very grateful.

Hi colspeed, and welcome!

Can you post a screenshot of when the error message displays?

I don't believe CMC can generate such a message, so most likely the message is being generated by VLC.

Since you are running Windows 7 and were running WMC, I'm guessing you have a frozen-in-time or hacked Windows 7 install, far from being a current, up-to-date Windows install. Does this also apply to your VLC install? What version of VLC are you running?

CMC passes command line options to VLC to set up playback, perhaps it is passing a command that isn't supported in your VLC version.
